Thursday 20th April - Burnham Beeches (AGM)
Burnham Beeches
29 Members attended the 2016 AGM at which Maurice Manning was overwhelmingly elected Captain with John Thompson his Vice.

Congratulations to both on their appointments. Sincere thanks were expressed to outgoing Captain Bill Boniface for all his hard work and effort in promoting the Society. He was duly presented with the Keith Atkinson Memorial Trophy in this regard.

We were joined by 3 guests at the soup and sandwich lunch after which all took to a fast running course after the recent dry spell with greens not up to the Club’s usual standard for which they have apologised.

However, considering the conditions the scoring was remarkably good. The winner of the Bill Watford Cup, with 37 points, was our new  Captain Maurice - obviously his day! Runner up with 35 points was our President Kim Harris.
Team winners on 84 points were Messrs Harris,White and Kilbey. Well done to all who took part and made the effort to attend the AGM,

It would be remiss not to thank Maurice for providing a much needed drink upon our return to the Clubhouse. Also thanks to Bill Boniface for undertaking efficiently the Officer of the Day duties and card markers, Dave Farndon and the Vice Captain.

The day concluded with an excellent 2 course dinner at which the annual trophies were presented. Suffice to say that Jon Paddon swept the board taking all - his handicap has been duly amended to reflect same! Once again the President’s team proved narrow winners over the Patron’s team with 2 balls for the winners.

Finally, by consensus,it was agreed that we book again for next Year and the Secretary has duly advised the Club of our concern with the course condition, the greens in particular.
