Thursday 6th April - Gerrards Cross
31 members and guests attended our first fixture of the year and were greeted by a balmy early Spring day.
The course looked a picture being well presented with the greens running quick but true.
The day’s enjoyment was complemented by an excellent breakfast and carvery lunch served by an attentive and helpful staff. We have requested a booking for next year on a similar basis.
Winner of the coveted S. V. Suchak Trophy, presented by son Anant, was Graham Kilbey with an excellent score of 37 points. Runner up was that true competitor, Paul Keen, on 36 points.
The winning team was Anant Suchak, Abhi Ganatra, son of the late Arun, and John Foster with 91 points. I am delighted to advise you that Abhi has now joined the Society membership.
Special thanks for his huge contribution for the day goes to Paul Green and his choice of splendid wines for the prize table. Thanks also to Jim Fry for his assistance with the card marking.
A mention must go to Captain Bill for his contribution not only to this fixture but throughout his year in office. He has done the Society proud and looked resplendent in his white tuxedo and bow tie.
