Tuesday 27th June - Windlesham(Captains Day)
Windlesham
Captain Maurice held an extremely successful day at his home club “Royal Windlesham”.

After an excellent breakfast, 36 players faced a fair yet demanding course, particularly those who tended to err off the straight and narrow. The weather was most kind being warm and sultry with the threat of thunderstorms in the air. The vast majority made the sanctuary of the Clubhouse before the rains set in.

Members played for two prestigious trophies being the Keith Jupp Trophy for the scratch competitionand the coveted Langsdon Trophy for stableford. Playing off an 8 handicap, both were won, with a gross score of 77 and 39 points respectively, by Martyn Pellew, a great achievement. Runner up in both competitions was Ian Watt, on countback in the stableford competition from Dave Farndon and Keith White.

Winning team, all members of Moor Park, were Brian Cuthbertson, Keith White and guest Richard Williams with a fine score of 87 points.

After an excellent two course roast beef dinner with wine kindly provided by the Captain, the prizes were presented. Thanks were expressed to all the Priory members of Windlesham for their great help and support in making the day such a success.
