Tuesday 14 February - North Hants

North Hants
What a great day! Even the weather was reluctant to leave. For 30 minutes the fog lingered before finally leaving us to begin play under
cloudless blue skies.

Taming this tricky course was George Michie with 36 points, followed home by Steve Shiebert on 35 points. They also claimed the team prize assisted by Philip Pendarves.

Second team were Danny Score, Nathan Sweeney, Alec Cochrane. Alec also won the guest prize.

There was only one nearest the pin won by Yan Hodge. Nearest the pin in 2 was Kim Harris with what must have been a tremendous shot to a tricky pin position.

It was nice that we were joined by John Foster & Howard Stokes (ex officers of the society) for a postponed Christmas lunch; & yes crackers were pulled & hats were worn.

Brian invited Mark Harris the CEO of his chosen charity, who gave us an impassioned insight into the charity's work with young children. Mark is the stepfather of Ricky who the charity was inspired by.

This inspired one member to write  out a personal cheque for £1000 for the charity. Thank you very much.

The auction raised on the day, thanks to your generosity the sum of £1866. The raffle made £340 plus the very generous cheque for £1000. The Captain will give you the final total raised in his report at the AGM.
